COPY S.SMITH & SONS, Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. 18th December 1933. W.Cowen,Esq., Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., 14/15 Conduit Street, W.l. Dear Mr.Cowen, Our Manchester Depot advise us that Messrs.David Rosenfeld Ltd. have disposed of a 40/50 Rolls-Royce chassis to their client Mr. G.Rose who is anxious for them to fit Jackall Hydraulic 4-wheel Jacks thereto. I am sorry to learn that your good folk have raised certain objections to the installation of this equipment and am wondering whether you are aware of the fact that we have recently designed an improved Jackall system - sample of which was fitted, by special arrangement with Derby, to a 40/50 h.p.chassis last week. Might I ask you to kindly ascertain Derby's views on this equipment? I understand that one of the objections raised is on the score of weight. Actually, the position is that a set of four Jackall Jacks is lighter than the three DWS.Jacks. I should very much like to interest Conduit Street and hope that you will very kindly give us facilities for fitting at least one of your Demonstrators, especially as I am convinced that sooner or later then the merits of Jackalls are known to your good people that you will be standardising this equipment on your complete range of chassis. In conclusion, I would like to explain that I am not casting any reflection on your present jacking system which is quite good as far as it goes but I respectfully submit that the "Jackall" set is much more progrsssive in design and really worthy of serious consideration by the manufacturers of the "wold's best car." Yours truly (Sd) Chas.W.Nichols. | ||
