-2- He/Em.1/WJ.12.12.31.Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Sketch (1). INTAKE SILENCER SCHEME FOR RAMMING TWIN CARBS. INDUCTION PIPE ARRANGEMENT. We tried three entirely separate types of carburetter on three cyl. ramming pipes (Sketch (2)) the R.R., Solex, and Zenith. There appeared to be little difference between the carbs. except that the smaller the induction pipe dia. the greater the roar. Sketch (2). TWIN RAMMING PIPE 40/50 We next tried two 1 1/8" throttle dia. S.U's. on two three cyl. pipes of the non-ramming type, i.e. carbs. between cyls. 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 (Sketch (3)). The induction pipe was blanked across the centre. The roar was slightly less than with the twin R.R. carburetter but still too great to be passable. | ||
