-2- Contd. CUTOUT: Present shunt winding 2800 turns of 36 S.W.G.(.0076) " series " 44 turns of 15 S.W.G. (.072) For half voltage we require 1400 turns of 32 S.W.G. (.0108") 22 turns of 12 S.W.G. (.104) Fuses. Present for 12 volts 30 S.W.G. (.0124") For 6 volts 28 S.W.G. (.0148") Dynamo field fuse should be 35 S.W.G. (.0084) L.T. WIRING: Owing to the relatively large lengths of wires used on our S.S. chassis electrical system, the cross sectional conductor area of all wires should be increased where possible, and as much as possible, consistent with keeping the conduits within reasonable dimensions. The minimum conductor size should be 70/36, i.e. for the distributing circuits controlled by single 28 S.W.G. fuses, to accord with the 20 : 1 rule. Wires constituting the main circuit between dynamo and battery and also those constituting the starter circuits (main and auxiliary should be of the greatest cross section reasonably possible. STARTER MOTOR: Teazer winding 16 S.W.G. .064" 18 x 4 turns. Motor main field .0190", 4½ x 2s/2p Motor armature | ||
