Mr. A.J. Stent,
West WitteringHenry Royce's home town,
Chichester, England.

Dear Mr. Stent,

Below is copy of letter from the Weiss Corporation which explains itself. I shall not ask them for a sample joint since they are nearly finished with the parts which really interest you.

"We received your letter of November 2nd, concerning the Weiss universal joint assembly for your English Company, and can advise that it is practically completed and will certainly be ready for shipment within a week or so. We have advised your Mr. M.L.Robinson that we would advise him as to the exact time that shipment will be made, as soon as we can give a definite date."

"As you know, the construction is very different from our ordinary designs and consequently has had to be made entirely to order and in a tool room."

"Before you placed the order with us for this joint assembly, we had expected to send a sample joint to England. When we received your order for the joints, however, we thought that an examination of a joint for another car would not be of interest."

"If the English company wants to see a sample Weiss joint besides the joints for the Goshawk car, however, we shall be glad to forward one at any time."

Yours very truly,

Maurice Olley.

MO/E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
