Dear Sirs,
Further to your letter of the 27th instant concerning the two pairs of 1 5/8" Downdraught Carburetter, will you kindly let us know the distance between the carburetter centres so that we can supply them with the jet and throttle controls to the correct length, also we should like the information as to whether they are offside or nearside mounting.
Concerning the anti-rattle device which we sometimes fix on the jet bridge, we have not found this necessary with the spring loaded downdraught type of piston owing to its lack of inertia weight.
As previously stated we have not had any rattle using Downdraught carburetters on even the most flexible engine mountings but if by some chance it is necessary on your job it is only a matter of a few minutes work to fit them.
Assuring you of our best attention at all times, we are
Yours faithfully,
For THE S.U. COMPANY
B. Cooper
