MORRIS MOTORS LTD. ENGINES BRANCH COVENTRY. Date 27th May, 1938. To W.A.Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. -2- The goodwill, which we consider such an important factor in keen prices and reliable deliveries, is built up and retained by every member of the Staff who comes into contact with suppliers. I ought to mention another point. We never push the "Dutch Auction" business too far, and we certainly have a reputation for sticking to old friends who have served us well in the past. If ever we find that one of our old and trusted suppliers is being undercut by anyone, we invariably give every possible opportunity to do one of two things - either meet the competition, or prove to us that the enemy is quoting a basically uneconomic price. So much for that piece of boastfulness. I am very grateful to you for your invitation to visit Derby, and to hear all about single cylinders. I am extremely busy at the moment, but I will make every possible effort to come and see you next week. May we leave it that I give you a ring to see if you will be available? If, after a personal discussion, you still feel that Leslie could learn anything by paying us a visit, we should be delighted to receive him and tell him anything we know. Yours sincerely, | ||
