Y4050 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ru2/LG. 19th. Oct. 1925. The Dunlop Rubber Co., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Healey. Research Dept. 4457 Referring to your letter of the 2nd. inst. With reference to your query as to the relative length of life of the French and British Dunlop tyres. Our observations show that the British tyres we have tried, wear better than those we obtained in France. Taking the front tyres as being the best basis for comparison (these are not subjected to violent braking and prolonged skidding to the same extent as the rear tyres, but are treated more uniformly), we find that the French tyre runs about 3,000 miles to the British tyres 3,600 miles. These figures do not, of course included any mileage run in England before the car crosses over. Yours faithfully, | ||
