Ry. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X2677 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/ADL 3.7.32. PETROL PUMPS The recent Peregrine petrol pump came through with .187 stroke. As we have previously pointed out, this is no use for pumping from a dry line. Will you please note that all the existing size of petrol pumps should have 1/4" stroke. Will you also please instruct 1/4" dia. pipe from the petrol filter to the tank, and also alter the drawings to ensure that all further pumps have large diameter passages drilled in the correct position relative to the valve seat as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/KT20.5.32. On the J.3. type of pump there is a danger of the guide sticking when the oil is cold. To reduce the viscosity effect will you please undercut the guide as shown in the attached sketch. We find the satisfactory clearance to be .0015" on the bearing portion remaining. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
