THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO.
CLIFTON JUNCTION.
MANCHESTER.

AES/NS. {Norman Scott} 24th June.1925.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Nightingale Road,
Derby.

Dear Sirs,

Ref. WD {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} /AW26/W23625.

Replying to your letter of the 23rd inst., concerning the special 6-RR 5 battery to which you refer in your letter Ref. WD {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 2/NJ7242 of the 7th April, we regret to note that the information contained in our letter of the 23rd ult., was incorrect and the battery has not actually left our Works.

We hope you will accept our apologies for this error, and we would inform you that the battery is leaving our Works to-morrow.

As regards the special 6-XL 3-4 battery, although you ask us to send this by passenger train immediately, we are not yet in a position to do this, as the plates which had to be formed have not come through so rapidly as we previously expected, and the battery has still to be assembled and charged. Our Works inform us that it will be approximately 10 working days before the accumulator is ready and we hope that this delay will not hinder your Experimental Dept. The urgency of this matter is fully realised, and we are doing everything possible to hasten manufacture.

Yours faithfully,

FOR THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY LD.
