Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the visit of our Mr. Armitage and the writer to your Works on Thursday last, the 27th ultimo, we would confirm having handed to you 18 cushion segments, our Part No.EX.2302, which we understand will be assembled by you to 13 1/2" diameter driven plates and tried out on your Phantom III model. These segments are being supplied free of charge.

We would also confirm your request that we communicate with our American associates with a view to obtaining 100, 13 1/2" Driven Discs, less hub, fitted with Thermoid facings from the Long Manufacturing Company, and similar to the sample made up by them for Mr.Robotham during his visit to America.

Furthermore, we are obtaining from The Borg & Beck Company for trial on the Bentley chassis one dozen facings Thermoid type, one dozen facings Oldmobile type, and six complete Driven Plates similar to sample which you obtained from them.

We would also refer to the visit of Mr. Chandler to our Works yesterday and would advise that the 13 1/2" cushion segment Phantom III Driven Plate assembled at your Works and which he brought along, when tested on our fixture was found to be running out up to .020" on the flat side and .045" on the cushion side.
