There is an excessive amount of fidgetting of the clutch pedal with the new canti-lever type pedals. The pedal oscillates up and down, but can be practically eliminated by finger pressure on the top of the pedal. We noticed that this pedal seemed particularly free compared with the earlier type of pedals. From the drawings we find there is no spring washer to take up end clearance on the pedal shaft and to apply a certain amount of friction on the pedals. Will you therefore arrange that a spring washer similar to that used on the previous type of pedals is fitted to the new canti-lever pedals from the 89th chassis in N.2. series.
