Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X417 BY1/G.19.10.28. CHASSIS 59-AL. FOX. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}8/W.10.10.28. We have no scheme ourselves to deal with this particular point. We appreciate the trouble, and would suggest that you obtain from Sales (either HO. or CWB) a made up sheet metal arrangement which is fixed to the floorboards and the frame in such a way as to cut off the mechanism from the interior of the chassis. One other way to deal with it would be to carry a wood block transversely across the frame fore and aft of the change gear mechanism, and then to carry a leather or rubber piece on the inside of the lever to join up the two wood blocks, and at the same time, so to speak, carry as a floor under the change gear mechanism fixed to the two wood pieces at each end and bolted to the frame with small bolts. We would make a scheme for you, but unfortunately at the moment we are so full up with SS.{S. Smith} work that I cannot spare the men. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
