To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} γ 5520. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.2/MJ.3.2.33. J.111 TYPE DAMPERS FOR 40/50 & 25 HP. PRODUCTION. X7520. 40/50 HP. These should be exactly as issued under By/HEB.{H. Biraben}5/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 2.2.33, which includes :- (1) Spring loaded gland. N.S.3659. (2) Stiffened shaft N.S.3661. (3) Stiffened casing R.R.Sch.323. (4) Bronze bush for rocking shaft. (5) 3 bolt mounting R.R.Sch.291. (6) Valve cover R.R.Sch.312. (7) Levers solid with shafts N.S.3634. (8) Improved position of filter. R.R.Sch.312. We must use the old intermediate lever F.59294 until we have tested the one shown on R.R.Sch.318. The old lever is satisfactory if the bolt is well tightened. 25 HP. The front dampers are practically identical to the 40/50 HP. only a slight difference is necessary for the third point of the mounting. The rear dampers should also be similar to the 40/50 only that the anchorage is as shewn on R.R.Sch.323. For the rear dampers on both chassis we should like the modified connecting tube end as shewn on R.R. Sch.291. This is to ensure the correct spring loading by screwing the cap up to a definite stop. The present design was for use with connecting tubes without spring loading. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/I.A.Leslie. | ||
