S/W C8/C22.11.35 DUNLOP TYRES. ------------ We had a call from Mr.Shankland yesterday, who explained the various steps the Dunlop Company have taken following our complaint to them of noisy Dunlop tyres on the Phantom III. He said that you and Dunlops are still engaged on experimenting with a view to getting a silent tyre but you had agreed in the meantime that the tyres were not altogether to blame inasmuch as similar tyres are quiet on the Cadillac. Perhaps you will let me know if you can confirm this now, because they want us formally to advise them in view of our strong complaint. I understand you are now investigating from the chassis point of view the question of these tyre noises, and I presume you will satisfy yourselves as to whether these were caused by the metal wheel arches and floor boards.
