BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 78420 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/H13.8.25. re. Squeaking Brakes. We have had one or two cases of complaints of squeaking brakes on 40/50 Front Wheel Brake cars, apart from the general complaint on the 20-HP cars. Confirming our conversation this morning on this matter, I understand that we are now in a position to apply to serious 20-HP. complaints a modification which will overcome this trouble. I would again, therefore, refer you to our memos EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn8/H16.2.25 and EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn12/H2.3.25. and shall be glad if you will let me have some instructions on this matter, so that we can circulate our Depots, and enabling us to cancel the previous instructions issued in regard to the injection of powdered Graphite, which is generally not condoned by R.{Sir Henry Royce} EP.{G.
