B.III HUBS.

Because of the high price of Dunlop hubs it is proposed to buy Bentley III hubs from Alford & Alder. This firm have been told to go ahead with the necessary broach, templates and gauges.

We now know the front hubs are wrong because of the foul between the tyre and cross steering tube.

It is also desired to have wider front brakes and make other slight modifications to get more wheel movement.

We believe that after small modifications to the hubs room for the wider drums can be made by running all the wheel spokes to the outside of the rim and that a pressed wheel is not essential.

We have asked the Order Office to stop all tools for B.III hubs except the broach.

It is essential, however, to have drawings of what the hubs will be with the new spoking of the wheels, both front and rear as the necessary tools take a long time to obtain.
