The following failures have recently occured on the above chassis. (1) Mild steel engine foot E.89314/5. This failed after 82 1/2 hours running. Similar engine feet are running on 35-EX in France. We do not think these engine feet will fall on the road. A standardisation sheet is being issued. (2) Side Spare Wheel Carrier LeC.5314. One of the support tubes failed after 21 1/2 hours at the welding. The method of attaching the wheel to the carrier is quite unsatisfactory when the tyre and wheel are dirty. It is necessary to hold the bolt from the back of the wheel whilst attaching the wing nut from the front. (3) Engine stay 983891 (6 S W 0.192). This failed after 192 hours a new stay has been fitted and has since run 162 hours without trouble. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} | ||
