X 1918 l. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EH. c. to CJ. c. to Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EH3/LE13.11.19. SPARKING PLUGS. X.3413. X.3129. X.1918. A car fitted with Lodge porcelain plugs on the battery ignition has now completed 1000 miles running. During this time the plugs have not been touched. The battery ignition has behaved perfectly. There has been no missing fire. The slow running on the car has remained consistent during the run. Owing to our complaints, K.L.G. have now modified their plugs and have submitted us fresh samples. They have arranged a longer leakage length on the insulation and a greater cavity in the plugs so that the insulation will be kept hotter and so free from carbon. EH. | ||
