X.393 X.8830 I understand from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} that Barkers' are desirous of making us a complete new body free of cost, in place of the one now on 7-EX, the car that I used last year in France. This naturally would be of the same type. I am not sure whether I understand EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} correctly, but it seems as though [s]from-a-mechnical-construction[/s] they would like us to help them with suggestions and criticisms froma mechnical construction point of view. This is a big job, with considerable responsibilitym and I naturally should not mind doing it at all if it was our business when we had finished, but these improved constructive features were we believe in the case of Young's soon adopted on Young bodies for such dangerous competitors as Hispano, Daimler, Bentley etc. If however Mr. Nutt really desires it we should be very pleased to do our best to assist them, but we should not be able to take any responsibility because we have little chance of profit, but for the good of the cause we think it is highly advisable that the construction from an engineering point of view should be carefully studied, and certain features standardised, this being the only way I think that highly efficient results can be obtained.
