| -2- 25th November 1936. Therefore 3.B.4. coachwork minus extras would be 9c. 2q. 17 1/2 lbs. You have given us two different standard Bentley body weights - (a) Was given in the perfect weight file where every item was weighed..as....... 9c. 1q. 17 1/2 lbs. (b) was given in your last memo to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} as a comparison with 3.B.4. as.......... 9c. 2q. 25 1/2 lbs. In this case the chassis weight with 4 galls. of petrol, all accessories was 23c. 1q. 16 1/2 lbs. and taken from your complete car figure of 33-0-14 with 4 galls of petrol. You do not mention any extra weight for the front anatomical seats, we have checked these and find the two weigh 6 1/2 lbs. more than standard. We cannot account for your 20 lbs. lighter than standard, as mentioned in your letter to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} on the 20th., and you will see from our figures why this is so. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
