Dear Mr. Salt,

Many thanks for your letter of the 13th. instant.

I note your remarks and as regards Progression, there are at least two alternatives:-

(1). The use of a progression slot in place of one or more progression holes,

and,

(2). The use of a variable progression orifice.

Of course, it is impossible for us to say exactly what dimension of progression hole is required in a carburetter when that carburetter is applied to an engine which has not come within our previous experience, and I can only repeat the offer already made, namely, to send an expert to your works to rough out the requirements on the road,
