We have been quoted a price by New Hudsons of 3d. per shoe, for fixing the Ferodo lining to the shoe, and grinding. There is a £40 tool cost. It is highly unlikely that the works can compete with this, and as New Hudson's supply the shoe, we think they should rivet on the lining. In the first instance we will supply Ferodo and rivets but later New Hudson's will buy the lining and rivets for us. we will naturally specify the lining. The price per shoe will then be increased by 2/5d. for purchase of linings, rivets, handling, riveting and grinding. The repair Dept. will carry say, 200 service shoes. New Hudson's can buy linings ½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} cheaper per piece than we can. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
