x264a ( GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} is absent ) HOTEL DE FRANCE. CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}/HFH{Hoppy F. Hamilton}/I/JAB. 13th April 1936. To. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} B. 56. BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} - BENTLEY. The car was held up on Sunday for examination. The following points may be of interest. When examining the effects of the O.S.F brake judder experienced on Saturday, it was found that the butterfly thumb-screw adjustment had slacked off 4-5 half turns. The drum was removed and the rear shoe operating toggle had become bent. This was replaced by one from the hand-brake system, the bent one straightened and put temporaly in its place. The judder occurred at high speed using a light pressure on the pedal. No repetition occurred. The brake stop light failed to operate due to a short to earth through faulty "bakelite" insulation in the switch plunger. After a short period of idling, the Engine is running rich. After various tests this has been traced to slow flooding due to bad seating of the feed needles. To cure this trouble satisfactorily we suggest you send us a pair of seats complete with needles for us to fit. ---------- H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Hamilton G.W.H/H.F.Hamilton. | ||
