It is light to handle, holds the road well, and has a low centre of gravity. These points, however, are mainly only appreciated by the driver. The passenger every time would prefer the extra luxury of the bigger car.

Another point about the Peregrine is that the passenger load is a greater proportion of the total load than on the 20/25 or Phantom and that when the Peregrine is carrying four passengers and luggage the performance then is very considerably reduced, much more than the other cars.

The Peregrine is going to be a wonderful car in its class but it will never possess the characteristics of the larger car. In the Peregrine class we shall be in a much more competitive market and as we shall be much more expensive we have got to make sure that the car starts off as good as we know how to make it.

It has got to be accepted that one of the difficulties we have got to face when we double the range of cars i.e. four models instead of two, that to bring in improvements simultaneously on all cars is impossible.

When the Peregrine is launched we expect it to go on for a long run on production without needing any design attention because all the efforts will be required to bring up to date the other models.

We are very anxious that the original Peregrines shall be made with provision for automatic control shock dampers, and also with silent second speed. We think that with these improvements the Peregrine ought to be able to have three years run on production with no major alterations.
