BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4003 RL/M19.11.28. --------------------- NITRIFYING HARDENING. X.4469 X.3822 X.7060 X.4003 X.7090 --------------------- The first things to try in this are the 'SS{S. Smith}', and aero engine, valve gear followers, and camshaft. The thing it seems least suitable for is the sliding change gear, and piston pins. The SS.{S. Smith} cam followers should be put in hand at once. It may be necessary to make them in this material, and anyway they should be better. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
