| Parkgate. Wirral. 26. July 1934. Dear Rowbotham. I am very sorry to trouble you, but a friend of mine - Richard Silcock by name - is toying with the idea of buying a Bentley & he has asked me whether I could find out if there are to be any modifications in the near future. By modifications I mean any alteration in the chassis which would enable a large saloon body to be fitted without loss of performance. The luggage space in the Park Ward Saloon is terribly restricted & as Silcock is a tall man, he finds the driving position v.{VIENNA} difficult. Do you fit a longer steering column? A further question - are you fitting the new shock dampers (as fitted to the Cont: Phantom II) to the Bentley? I am very sorry to trouble you in this way, but the man sounds keen & he wants to know really, whether he can have a saloon body fitted in which he can drive comfortably without loss of performance. I had a Post Card from Geoffrey from the far north of Scotland yesterday. I am probably heading for Skye in September & hope to make the journey in a Bentley. My kind regards to your wife. Yrs: sincerely. H.A.P. Rowland. | ||
