Instructions for altering valve loadings on front hydraulic dampers by replacing washers.

The high pressure valve caps are not very accessible and so we send you a special spanner to deal with the job.

Before the valve loading is altered the dynamic restriction should be removed from the dampers. This is accomplished by unscrewing nut N. and withdrawing the bolt upon which are strung a number of washers W. separated by distance pieces. The distance pieces and washers should be removed and the bolt replaced.

When the damper is re-filled with oil after this operation, care should be taken to ensure that all lost movement due to air in the system is removed.

Front hydraulics - low pressure valves.

The loading on these dampers as sent out was 60/70. It is required to make them 50/100. The low pressure valve loading should be altered precisely in the same way as those on the rear. Present washers :-

High pressure valves.

To get the required 100 lbs. load on these valve
