Page 2 on Tuesday afternoon, as to how we stand in the matter, so that we may make arrangements which will be mutually satisfactory, to send one of our people to Derby with the fittings to complete the tank unit if necessary, instal it in the tank, run up a calibration of the job in place, and either bring the dial back for writing here, or if there is no time to do this, have it written at your works. In the meantime, could you inform us by telegram the angle of the facia board on Mr.Royce's car? We should like this information to shim the head approximately before sending it up to you. You will realise that by reverting to the 2¼" scale, we shall add between ⅛" and ⅜" to the 4" over-all dimension given on Diagram K.S.56.S. sent you yesterday, but we take it that this is not important, in view of the large amount we have been able to take off the back tube. Our first proposal was with the 2" scale to get the dimension to the very minimum, and that is why we gave you the figure of 4".
