To C. From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} C. to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} xmas He/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}S/KT.27.11.33. 65-MW. LORD HERBERT SCOTT. With reference to C8/C22.11.33. We may be wrong but we think that the controllable type shock absorbers will cure the complaint of passenger sickness without the road springs being changed. We suggest that Lord Herbert Scott tries Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car which is fitted with controllable dampers and he will be able to tell us at once whether this suspension suits him. When the controllable dampers are fitted, the car will be required for about a fortnight owing to the fact that the body has to be lifted. If the controllable dampers do not suit Lord Herbert Scott, we recommend leaving the front springs as they are at present - i.e. low rating - and change the rear springs only to the low rating type.
