THE OHIO CRANKSHAFT COMPANY 6600 CLEMENT AVENUE CLEVELAND, OHIO January 8, 1937 Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Derby, England Attention: Mr. F.{Mr Friese} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Smith Experimental Dept. Dear Sirs: We have your letter of the 23rd of December with inquiry concerning the TOCCO PROCESS as developed by this company. We are enclosing herewith available literature describing this PROCESS but will have a more detailed technical description available very soon. At that time we shall be pleased to forward to you this new pamphlet. You will also be interested to know that the writer visited your plant a year ago and had a talk with your Mr. Bailie, and that during my visit in England arrangements were completed for installation of a TOCCO hardening equipment in the plant of Ambrose Shardlow, Ltd., of Sheffield. This plant is nearly ready to start actual operation and, inasmuch as I understand Ambrose Shardlow are doing some machine work for your company, you will be able to obtain complete information close at hand concerning any details of the PROCESS in which you may be interested. We are also represented in England by the Electric Furnace Company, 17 Victoria Street, London, who will be glad to furnish you with specific information on prices and costs for any application you may care to consider. While the initial work in this country has been done on crankshafts, new applications are being developed very rapidly as obviously the method has almost unlimited possibilities for hardening cylindrical sections or similar work. Assuring you of our appreciation of your interest and hoping you will not hesitate to call on us or our English representatives for any additional information you may require, we are Yours very truly, THE OHIO CRANKSHAFT COMPANY By W.
