X350Y To: Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Derby. From: Sp.{Mr Spinney} Sp{Mr Spinney}4/HW/26.2.20. 26. Februarym 1920. X350Y RE SHOCK ABSORBERS AND BODY MAKERS' BRACKETS. The fitting of rear shock absorbers appears to be causing Coachbuilders considerable trouble in connection with their luggage grids and to some extent with their wing brackets. We are doing the best we can yo avoid scrapping the luggage grid brackets already made; we should, however, welcome a sketch as soon as possible. We are fraid that holes which have been drilled for luggage grids willsometines interfere with the holes which Derby require to be fitted in the frame in the new position of petrol tank support. It appears that the luggage grid problem is becoming an urgent one, and we are afraid that many coachbuilders will be damaging the frame unless we have a clear lead from Derby as to what they may or may not do. We understand that you are considering for future chassis lengthened projections of the frame. Can you please advise if this is so ? Sp.{Mr Spinney} (Copy to H.O.)
