Re: Failure of the Total Mileage Recorders on 2 Speedometers for Bentley III. The failure is due to the star pinion of the 3rd. roller being faulty, due to a flaw in the die. These pieces are being die-cast. It appears that these two speedometers were made up, out of a new delivery of rollers, hence we have been fortunate in trapping the trouble immediately. Stocks of speedometers at A.T. Co's Works, have all been dismantled, and in no case has a faulty roller been detected. It is thought that we need have no fear of an epidemic of total mileage recorder trouble on production instruments. A sample will be brought for inspection by Mr. Arrowsmith, tomorrow. BY/RD. | ||
