Cox - Advertising Manager} Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}2/M/30.4.1929. Re: Mr. Haywood's order for 'Phantom' chassis through Jack Barclay. (attached) This is the man with which we had so much trouble and who indicated by a table the points in which he considered the Bentley car superior to the 'Phantom'. As you know, we ultimately secured his order by going to a lot of trouble and by the fitting of some slightly stronger springs in the side steering tube to make the steering less spongy and more direct. The attached memo from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} refers to the supply for his Chassis - No. 122.KR. - of a similar set of springs to those which were used in order to secure his order. May I have your authority to supply these, please? Att: BY/Mtn10/N29.4.29. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} [illegible signature] | ||
