Modified Ignition Distributor & Governor
Phantom III Type coil N°D.75260 & Ballast

We have now run 2,000 miles on these units together with KLG type 850 plugs set at .035". The results are good. Misfiring due to sparking to earth experienced in the old distributor has been completely cured. Detonation can only be heard up to 16-20 MPH. by listening close to the engine, none being heard in the car. Slow running and pick-up are satisfactory. The engine is not 100% for idling, but this would seem to be due to carburation and induction system. A timing of 12°-14° before T.D.C. gives the minimum advance without loss of power, and with this setting, no appreciable advantage is gained by retarding the manual ignition lever for slow running and tick over.

These tests have been carried out with the original carburetter fitted. We are now running on the new carburetter which we brought out.

Comparison of Radiator to Specification

Tests were made on both radiators with shutters fixed open at 35 MPH, 60 MPH, & full throttle, a mean being taken of the temperatures recorded over a ten mile stretch of road, carried in each direction. The following results were obtained :-
