Dear Sir,

RE: YOUR ROLLS-ROYCE CAR NO. 163-TA.

With reference to our letter of yesterday in acknowledgment of your letter of the 18th inst. we have now a report from our Cricklewood Repair Depot.

We have first of all to express to you our great regret that you should have had a recurrence of stiffness in the brake mechanism. We sincerely apologise for the annoyance this must cause you. We have no explanation to offer other than our zeal for the close fitting of parts that may give rise to rattle on the unsprung axles. It is quite true we eased these levers on two previous occasions and gave them even then too little clearance. This time we have given definitely sufficient.

The mistake in connection with the fitting of the wireless set which was mentioned to your driver was the fitting of a condenser to the field terminal of the dynamo. This had been fitted since the car was in our Repair Depot recently or we should have recommended its removal to the position main terminal of the dynamo.

We are under the impression that our Derby Works were in correspondence with Messrs. E.K.Cole Ltd., about a year ago on wireless fitting and we are therefore sending a copy of your engineer's report to Derby where these matters are dealt with.

We are asking them to write to you as soon as
