Dear Wilks,

Thank you for your letter of 29th August.

I thought we were having rather more than our fair share of the Studebaker car.

The present position is that we have dispersed our Derby Factory to such an extent that it is almost impossible to make anything, and we also need an enormous amount of transport.

If, therefore, you will let us know what you consider to be an equable price for this car, we will buy it off you. This price will of course represent what the car would be worth on the open market.

I hope your job is going well. I see lots of pieces in the Experimental Shop.

I am looking forward to visiting you when I get a chance.
