X3458 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to R.R.America Inc. for attention of OY. RE/G11.4.21. X.3456 EXTRUDED COPPER TUBES FOR RADIATORS. X.3678 X.3678 With reference to extruded copper tubes, these were sent to us by Mr. Nadin, but they were thought to be so soft that the built-up radiator would not be strong enough. You tell us, however, that these particular tubes are about one-third of the price we pay for the brass drawn tubes. It would therefore be advisable to get these made with circular ends which we prefer ( enough to make three radiators) and see whether they will stand anything like the bumping tests as those made from brass tubes. The saving will be particularly desireable for Goshawk ll which will require same diameter of tube shorter in length and fewer in number. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
