OBSERVATIONS MADE ON A BENTLEY CAR FITTED WITH LUCAS HARNESS. Test 1. With engine stationary, and H.C. and T lamps only on - (a) Volts at battery terminals 11.95 volts. (b) " head-lamp terminals 9.8 " (c) Battery current Discharge 11.3 amperes. Test 2. With engine running at a speed high enough for dynamo to supply load and balance the battery, and with H.C. and T lamps, ignition coil and petrol pumps only on - (a) Volts at battery terminals 12.45 volts (b) " regulator terminals D and E 13.0 " (c) " head-lamp terminals 12.1 " (d) Battery current. Zero Test 3. With conditions as in Test 2, but with the engine and dynamo running at a speed above regulating point - (a) Volts at battery terminals. 12.9 volts. (b) " regulator terminals D and E 14.2 " (c) " head lamp terminals. 13.3 " (d) Battery current Charge 6.5 amperes. .................. | ||
