R.R. 348A (100 H) (M 42. 10.2.10). E.P. 6019. DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. Issued 13th December 1910 This column is for Name of Person addressed. C.J. X634 DATE. 13/12/10 Crankshaft Vibrations. R6/D131210. Referring to the crank-shaft vibrations, we have a car running here with a heavy front flywheel which is very difficult to apply to the present engines, but which shows that the spring drive is not necessary provided this front friction driven flywheel is of sufficient weight. The engine seems to run quite smoothly throughout the whole range, the gears being quiet, but as we have powerful charges and a fair compression on this particular engine, the impulses are noticeable, but the acceleration is grand.
