To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from C.J. Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to Dr. Goshawk. My dear R.{Sir Henry Royce}, I have heard an expression of opinion in Paris that the 20 HP R.R. car will not sell there freely unless it be fitted with front wheel brakes. The people, who have expressed this opinion, have tried the Goshawk and have admitted that there is no necessity for the front wheel brakes so far as the retarding or the stopping of the car is concerned, but that we shall have to bow to fashion. I am asking our people in Paris and also Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to let me know what proportion of the 20 HP cars, which were shown at the recent Exhibition in Paris, were fitted with front wheel brakes. Yours ever, C.J. | ||
