1328. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}5/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 8th March, 1939. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON. N.W.2. (For the attention of Mr. Eckford). Dear Sirs, Our Production Dept. have found a number of calorstats, Wraith type, which operate at temperatures approximately 10°C lower than standard. The label on the packing of these calorstats has in the space marked "Filling" the letters "Hx". We are wondering whether this means Hexane, and whether you have changed over to this filling on production supplies. Will you please let us know whether this is so as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
