Earls Court Show, 1961

Below are some comments and criticisms encountered on the Bentley Stand at the Earls Court Show this year.

1. The most frequent criticism was that regarding boot space, height in particular. Without revising the spare wheel stowage little can be done here. (8)

2. Three people complained of insufficient headroom in the Mulliner Continentals and one of the rear headroom in the standard saloon.

3. I had three complaints about excessive slope on the rear squab in the standard saloon causing neck stiffness.

Two suggestions came from a very enthusiastic S.2 owner (Mr. R.K. Munday, a director of the British School of Motoring) He felt that the inside mirror obscured forward vision too much. He also thought an extra map lamp should be fitted under the capping rail immediately inboard of the Steering Column.

I might add that our detail improvements for this years show were very popular especially the handbrake warning lamp, the headlamp flasher and the extra footroom for the rear passenger.
