For attention of Mr. W.A.Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

"OREL"

We have received your letter of the 3rd instant, asking for information as to the exact purpose of "OREL" rubber lubricant. We have already supplied you with this information and attach hereto copy of our letter dated March 1st, 1939, addressed to Mr. A. {Mr Adams} F. {Mr Friese} Martindale.

This matter has been dragging since the month of October, 1938, when someone in your Company telephoned to this office asking if we could supply some "OREL" to your Company. We explained that this new du Pont rubber lubricant and penetrant was not on sale in this country, that we would be pleased to supply a sample from the United States for your examination, provided you would let us have your comments on the results you obtained. That was the only obligation we asked you to take against our supplying you with a sample.

This material was placed on the market in the United States after thorough evaluation by users, and your comments as to its value would help our Technical Department in the United States to determine if it is worth-while placing this product on the British market and even arranging for its manufacture in this country.

We can assure you that nothing you will tell us would be used in connection with advertising the product.

After examining the contents of our letter of March 1st will you please let us know if you are interested in receiving a sample for examination on the above basis.

Yours very truly,
Fred G. {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Singer
