With regard to dynamos on the La{L. A. Archer} Salle and Cadillac we should be interested to know the maximum speed at which you can run these, and the maximum output without undue sparking at the commutator and excessive wear of the brushes. It is our experience that voltage controlled dynamos at high speed where it is possible for the current to be high, i.e. with the battery discharged, the commutator blackens considerably due to the excessive sparking.

I am personally interested in all automobile electrical matters and should be happy to give any information you may require on automobile electrical matters of mutual interest.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER.
