No. Patentee. Title. skirts around the top of the skirt. Sleeve is capable of making a bearing contact with the cylinder in which the piston is adapted to operate. Skirt may be made of alloy having low co-efficient of expansion e.g. Si 14%, Ni.2% cu.0.9% Mg 1% remainder Al. 525,260 Pernold Co. Liquid cooled cylinders of internal combustion engines. Cooling liquid is introduced into a cylinder head through a plurality of apertures the [strikethrough]cross-sectional[/strikethrough] area of which are increased in successive stages in a direction transverse of the cylinder head and also in a direction [strikethrough]transverseof thecylinderhead[/strikethrough] longitudinally thereof, the area of flow of cooling liquid through the head being proportioned so as to cause a relatively larger flow adjacent the hot regions than adjacent the cool regions. 525,328 Arthur George Taylor Actuating means for brake shoes. Internally expanding brakes are applied by oppositely working bell crank levers mounted in a carriage which moves to compensate loads on the brakes independently of the members which actuates the bell crank levers. This last member may be a piston moved hydraulically. Bell crank levers supply mechanical advantage and are shaped to apply brakes more quickly at the start than at the finish of the movement. | ||
