Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}'s recent memo, in which he pointed out that one of the stops in the aluminium bronze steering box had broken, I raised this matter with Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} pointing out that the stops should not be in action in service, they are merely conveniences for erection purposes. I asked Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions} to explain the position. I attach copy of his memo Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}12/N.18.7.39. The point of view explained is probably appreciated, but I thought it desirable to prevent misunderstanding in view of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}'s remarks. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
