Origin: To increase bearing life and provide smoother running at high speeds. Report of Experimental Test: Run 15,000 miles on 32-EX in France. Condition satisfactory when dismantled. A mock-up more heavily loaded scheme on 36-EX has done 16,000 miles. A similar mock-up has done 160 hours on dyno. and considerable running on Brooklands.
