J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. SHOCK DAMPERS.

Attached is a print of N.sch.3405 - Shock Damper with distant control.

The shock damper is exactly the same front and rear except for the levers.

Internally it is as already sent to Derby on N.scheme 3226., but includes the new method of fixing the levers.

The distant control unit is as already sanctioned by R.{Sir Henry Royce} before leaving for France, but a suggestion for a method of centralised replanishment is added. The stiff spring which experiment has shewn to be necessary for the correct operation of the double acting main valve prevents the valve piston being used to provide the replanishment valve.
