My dear Hardy,

With reference to my letter of the 20th ult, I am enclosing herewith a full type bearing which I have knocked together, this being our XLJ.1.3/4" modified to the double purpose type and made full type without the cage.

You will readily appreciate the question of noise when you try this even on a mandrel fixed into a lathe, and as mentioned in my previous letter I am quite confident that this bearing will be far too noisy for your purpose.

This bearing is being sent free of charge and there will therefore be no need for you to send us an order for four off as mentioned in your previous letter unless you decide to go further with the job, and I shall be glad to hear from you in due course as to what steps you decide to take.

Yours sincerely,

Sgd. F.O.Hickling.

One brg. XLJ.1.3/4" modified to double purpose and full type.
