X 4342 L Extract from EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T9.7.21. X.4342 - STARTER MOTORS OF OTHER MAKES FOR "GOSHAWK II". Rotax M.T.1 L. Motor. It was at first thought from dimensions given in the Rotax catalogue (which afterwards proved to be incorrect) that this motor would not go into position without fouling the crankcase breather, and on our informing Mr. Royce of this fact during our visit, he decided that this motor should be struck off the list. Latterly, however, it has been found that the motor will go in, and we suggested to Mr. Royce in our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 7/T7.6.21 that we should go ahead with this motor (Will E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} also kindly refer to our EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T28.6.21). At present the matter of the motor is in abeyance pending this decision. Lucas Motor. Messrs. Lucas have not a standard motor which is suitable. The carcase diameter of the motor they recommend is unsuitable for our requirements. Full particulars, however, have now been placed in front of Messrs. Lucas so that they now have an opportunity of producing for us a sample motor which will be suitable. Brolt Motor. Messrs. Brolt have also been given full particulars, and are at the present moment going into the matter. We are expecting a reply shortly. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} | ||
